How We Review Tools
Last updated: March 2026
How Tools Are Selected for Review
We prioritise tools that:
- — Are actively used by small businesses (under 50 employees)
- — Have publicly available pricing
- — Offer a free trial or free tier
- — Have verifiable user reviews on G2 or Capterra
- — Fall within our 17 covered categories
We do not review enterprise-only tools, tools without public pricing, or tools primarily targeting consumers rather than businesses.
Our Testing Process
Every review covers who the tool is for, what it does, pricing, pros, cons, and a clear verdict. We never sit on the fence.
Editor Tested
Tools we have hands-on tested in real business workflows. We sign up, use the core features, and document specific findings. These carry the Editor Tested badge. Premium listings may qualify for editor testing.
Conflicts of Interest Policy
ToolWise earns revenue from affiliate commissions and paid vendor listings. We disclose this clearly on our About page.
Paid listings do not influence our editorial recommendations. A vendor paying for a featured listing receives no editorial benefit — no preferential treatment in reviews or comparison articles, no suppression of criticisms.
Affiliate relationships do not influence recommendations. Our AI chat and editorial content recommend tools based on editorial quality, not commission rates.
If we have a material financial relationship with a vendor beyond standard affiliate commission, we disclose it in the review.
Corrections Policy
Pricing and features change frequently. When a tool updates its pricing or removes features, we update the review within 30 days of becoming aware of the change.
If you spot an error — wrong pricing, outdated features, factual mistake — email editorial@toolwise.ai. We take corrections seriously.
Submit a Tool for Review
We accept tool submissions from vendors and users. To submit a tool:
- — Email editorial@toolwise.ai with the tool name and URL
- — We review all submissions but cannot guarantee coverage
- — Submitting a tool does not guarantee a positive review
- — Free submissions are reviewed on our own timeline
